Dietmar Gosch joins Carneades

Hamburg, 22.10.2020

Dietmar Gosch joined the Carneades Project Services team this month as Senior Contract and Claim Manager. Dietmar has a long track record in offshore wind expanding over almost two decades. His experience includes the negotiation of the supply contract and the project management of the Beatrice Demonstrator for the former WTG manufacturer REpower Systems. The Beatrice Demonstrator is well known as the first project in the world in deep waters of 45m in the Moray Firth far off the Scottish coast, featuring a floating installation with fully pre-assembled 5 MW wind turbine generators on the hooks of the sheerleg crane vessel Rambiz.

Following that assignment, he was also the Head of Offshore Sales for REpower leading to successful projects such as the Ormonde OWF (150 MW) in the Irish Sea. The negotiation lead of the EPCI & Service contract Phase II and III of Thornton Bank OWF has been another achievement in his offshore wind career. The Thornton Bank wind farm was the starting point of the Belgian offshore wind cluster and constituted the biggest project financed wind farm at the time of signing.

Beyond the wind turbine generators Dietmar’s knowledge also includes HVDC converter platforms and offshore installation.

Dietmar Gosch on his decision to join Carneades: “When I got to know Carneades Project Services, I was really impressed by the immense expertise they have in the team, whether that be on legal, commercial, project management or technical level. Quite rightly they call themselves project experts for offshore wind and grid connections. I am delighted to have joined them and to be part of this dynamic team. And I am convinced, we can make a very valuable contribution to our client’s projects.”

A significant portion of Dietmar’s time will also be assigned to Carneades’ sales activities, especially regarding HVDC platform and cable projects.

Managing Partner Tobias Voigt: “When working for a shipyard entering the HVDC platform business at that time, Dietmar gained quite some knowledge about the unusual but necessary collaboration between yard business and high voltage players – two completely different industries delivering together one platform worth several hundred million euros. Especially in the UK with the additional influence of the OFTO transactions, he had to manage a tough sales business. I am looking forward to work with Dietmar on such negotiations.”
